Pop culture personality Kim Kardashian and her three youngest children were baptized October 7th at Armenia’s historic cathedral, about five miles west of Yerevan.
Kardashian is married to rapper Kanye West, who recently experienced a powerful renewal of his Christian faith, which caused him to renounce further recording of secular music. He also has preached powerful messages as a guest speaker at several large churches in recent weeks.
The baptism took place at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, which is sometimes referred to as the Vatican of the Armenian Apostolic Church, built in 303 AD.
Kardashian and her sister and children arrived in Armenia early on Monday morning, and she shared her enthusiasm on Facebook saying, “Almost 3 am in Armenia, and I can’t sleep I’m so excited to be here and see everyone!”
A church spokesperson said the sisters had registered for the baptisms in advance of their arrival in Armenia. Following the ceremony, Kardashian spoke at the World Congress on Information Technologies in Yerevan, according to Asbarez News.
“Thank you Armenia for such a memorable trip,” she wrote on a series of photos of her and her children in the cathedral. “So blessed to have been baptized along with my babies.”
Pastor Tyson said he believes the celebrity’s faith is authentic and that God is at work in his life. He said Kanye is spending time in the Word and in prayer.
Tyson, pastor of Placerita Bible Church in Santa Clarita, California, also teaches at Kanye’s “Sunday Service” events, which feature gospel music and teaching at various locations across the U.S.
North, the eldest of the Kardashian West children, was baptized in Jerusalem’s St. James Cathedral, located in the historic Armenian Quarter in 2015, when Kardashian and West traveled to Israel after their first visit to Armenia.
